My name is Mark Coleman McClinton and I am a general practitioner in New Albany, Mississippi. My hope is that I can serve my community in North Mississippi by providing the best legal representation at a fair rate. I pride myself on being available to my clients and answering their calls, regardless of the date or time. Law is my passion and my clients are my priority.
I began my career as a Special Assistant Attorney General at the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office in Jackson, MS. I worked as an attorney in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and gained valuable courtroom experience prosecuting cases involving the abuse and neglect of vulnerable persons within a licensed healthcare facility. I prosecuted cases in the following counties: Union, Tippah, Benton, Lafayette, Marshall, Chickasaw, Calhoun, Yalobusha, Panola, Pontotoc, Tate, and DeSoto. After working in Medicaid Fraud, I moved to the cybercrime division of the Attorney General’s Office and worked alongside investigators, directing the prosecution of various internet crimes, such as cyber stalking and possession of child pornography.
In 2017, I began my tenure as the legislative liaison to the Attorney General for the 2017 and 2018 legislative sessions. In this position, I worked with legislators to pass laws on behalf of the Attorney General, that would protect the people of Mississippi.
After leaving the Attorney General’s Office, I briefly joined Young Williams, a law firm that is contracted through the Mississippi Department of Human Services and specializes in child support enactment, enforcement, and modification. Specifically, I worked in Union, Chickasaw, and Panola Counties.
In the summer of 2021, I decided to “hang a shingle” and open a general practice law office in my hometown of New Albany. A few months later, I partnered with Regan S. Russell to form Russell & McClinton, P.A. in New Albany. We are a general practice law firm serving the fine people of North Mississippi. The primary focus of my practice is Criminal Law and Domestic Relations.
In 2022, I was hired as one of the public defenders in Union and Tippah County, representing indigent clients in Circuit, Justice, Municipal, and Youth Courts in those counties. In the Summer of 2022, the Board of Aldermen hired me as the city attorney for the Town of Ecru.
